Timpson

... was founded, according to Wikipedia, in 1865 (not 1903), by William Timpson and his brother–in–law Walter Joyce, as a shoe retailer on Oldham Street, Manchester. It began manufacturing shoes in Kettering, Northamptonshire in 1884, and began repairing shoes in 1903. It moved its headquarters to Wythenshawe, Manchester in 1964. Since a management buyout in 1983 it has specialised in shoe repairs and key cutting, and it currently has over 1,325 outlets in the UK and Ireland.
